His Guilt by Shelley Shepard Gray

His Guilt is the second book in Shelley Shepard Gray's The Amish of Hart County series. It is a stand alone novel. I read book one, Her Secret, which was good and I looked forward to checking out His Guilt. This series is Romantic Suspense and Amish Fiction.

In His Guilt, everyone thinks Mark Fisher is guilty. How can they not when a rash of crimes starts occurring shortly after his arrival? But Neeta Cain is trying to give him the benefit of the doubt no matter what. A cast of other characters have a part in His Guilt that keep this suspenseful telling interesting.

While I was reading this book I felt sorry for Mark and his troubled past. I think this story is good reminder about what happens when we are judgmental toward others and how forgiveness can transform a life. Also, that everyone seems to be looking for love and acceptance even when it doesn't really seem like it at times. I knew who the criminal was as soon as that person was introduced but Shelley did a good job of casting shadows on other characters' innocence. This story is a little more detailed in the crimes than a cozy mystery so I would recommend it for those thirteen year old and up. His Guilt is a quick read with characters that are fun to get to know. l was provided a complimentary review copy of this book. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255.
