The World Race - Week One, officially off and running with God

The World Race
The World Race
God is always talking to us, showing us His love. We just have to keep our eyes & ears open to see and hear Him. His
voice may not be audible but He is speaking to us. I had planned to post about #1's mission trip with the World Race but I didn't know I would be sharing the details that God had planned out to let us know He definitely has His hand on this trip.

I have to give a little backstory first. Ever since the kids started school (in 1998, Wow!) we have done a devotion before they head out the door to the bus. If you haven't seen a devotional before, they go in chronological order so you pick the date it is and read that day's devotion. Typically we don't read the devotions during the summer months. I boxed up all my books recently so we starting using a devotional for this school year (2015 - 2016) that was in the upstairs magazine rack that didn't get packed away. Since we had already used this one for another school year I decided to start off with the devotions for the dates of the summer months since we hadn't read through those yet.

This is where it gets exciting. My husband & #1 left at 5:30 am last Friday, 1/8/16, so she could catch a flight to the World Race launch. Everyone else stayed home. One of #1's sisters read the devotion that day. Remember, it was January 8th but we weren't reading in chronological order because we started at the end of August 2015 with June's devotions. To our surprise the World Race was talked about in the devotion. Right there was God telling us not to worry, He's got it under control. Today I decided to take a picture of the actual devotional page that we read so you could see the World Race mention. Since I wasn't the one who read it I didn't see it's date until this morning. Wow, God spoke to us once again. Look at the picture below at the date. It is August 24th, #1's birthday.

I am so thankful that God spoke to us and He used a piece of paper! God wants to speak to you too. Look & listen for ways that He is letting you know He is there. God sent His son Jesus to die on a cross for everyone's sins. When we believe that and ask Jesus to come into our hearts and lives, we become God's children. The Holy Spirit also comes into our lives to help us. Go here to learn more about this.

The World Race is all about sharing the love of Jesus in many ways, you can learn more here. If you want to learn more about God's love for you and knowing Jesus check out this and this.
