Kathleen Fuller started writing in 2000. She has over 30 books under her belt. I have read a handful of her Novellas and enjoyed them. Her series set in Middlefield, Ohio are fan favorites. Learn more about Fuller and her books here.

In A Reluctant Bride, marriage was never a thought for Sadie Shrock, let alone marrying because she seems to have no other choice. Aden Troyer was never one to draw attention to himself. When he and Sadie are brought together as husband and wife, the only thing they have in common is they both keep others at a distance. The secondary characters add interest to the storyline. Aden’s father, Emmanual, appears to be the model Bishop in his community. Aden’s brother Sol is battling his own demons. Sadie's sisters, Joanna and Abigail, are in another town while Joanna is receiving therapy.

Sadie is a very sweet girl that I liked instantly. She had a lot to deal with all at once and handled it as well anyone would. I did not care for a few of the characters at first. They grew on me, like they did with Sadie. This book has grief, heartache, deceit, greed, lies, abuse, and death. I was left hanging with a few questions about characters that will most likely be addressed in the rest of the series. A Reluctant Bride is book 1 in the Amish of Birch Creek series. I received a free copy of this book from BookLook Bloggers in exchange for my honest review. I can not wait to read An Unbroken Heart, book 2 in the series, which is scheduled to release on 3/15/16.
