Sarah M. Johnson knows what it is to experience grief, as she lost her father and brother in a plane crash that she survived. Life is Beautiful is her first book. It is the
account of overcoming her lifelong loneliness and struggles that she began to deal with after the accident. She is currently going to graduate school and studying to be a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Johnson hopes to help others through their own grieving process. Read more about Sarah M. Life is Beautiful is the personal telling of a young woman finding beauty in a life that was filled with pain and heartache. Instead of reaching out to others for help, she turned to destructive means to numb her hurting. This book goes between details of the plane crash and the negative issues in Johnson’s family during her years living at home. She writes about discovering “her Higher Power”, which begins her turn to a brighter future.

I appreciate how she openly discusses her alcohol abuse, extreme loneliness and depression. Through much counseling and inner reflection she has been able to move forward with her life. As a Bible believing Christian I can not agree that God and the “Higher Power” that she refers to are one in the same. Apart from that, I enjoyed Life is Beautiful. I would recommend it to those whose find inspiration in other’s triumphs. I received a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for my honest review.
