Make Your Own Refrigerated Chocolate Chip Cookies

It's easy to make your own. The following is my recipe adapted from Alpha Bakery Children's Cookbook Chocolate Chip Cookies recipe.

Chocolate Chip Cookies
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 packed brown sugar
1/2 cup softened margarine
1/2 cup shortening
1 egg
2 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Mix sugars and margarine. Stir in egg. Add flour soda and salt: mix well. Stir in chocolate chips. Place dough on floured surface. Press out with hands into a 10 inch by 7 1/2  inch rectangle. With a knife, cut dough down the middle. For each half, cut the dough into 24 equal pieces.

To store: Using a spatula, place each 24 piece half onto wax paper. Make the wax paper big enough to fold over the top. Place the dough into a sealed bag and put in the refrigerator or freezer. I like to freeze mine.

To make: Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Place refrigerated or frozen cookie squares onto ungreased baking sheet about three inches apart. Bake for about 10 minutes or until golden brown. To make just a few, use your toaster oven. This recipe works if you want to just drop them by spoonfuls onto the baking sheet also.
