Homemade Mixes ~ Ranch Salad Dressing Mix

Sometimes they fit in a jar, Sometimes they don't!

Ranch Salad Dressing Mix
2/3 cup dried parsley flakes
1/4 cup finely crushed saltine crackers
1/3 cup dried minced onion
3 tablespoons garlic salt
2 tablespoons onion salt
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 tablespoon dill weed
1/4 teaspoon pepper

In a medium bowl, combine all ingredients and mix well. Store in airtight container in a cool dry place. Yield: Makes 12 batches of Ranch Salad Dressing.

To prepare Ranch Dressing: Combine 1 tablespoon of Ranch Salad Dressing Mix with 1 cup mayonnaise and 1 cup buttermilk. Refrigerate until serving. Makes 2 cups

If you don't have buttermilk here's an easy substitute I use all the time:

Buttermilk Substitute
1 tablespoon bottled lemon juice or vinegar
about 1 cup milk

In a measuring cup add lemon juice or vinegar. Add enough milk to equal 1 cup. Let sit for five minutes or until it looks curdled..
