BookReview The World's Greatest Christmas Cookies by Barbour Publishing, Inc.
The introduction in this book calls it a "collection of time-tested recipes." If you read a lot of cookbooks or collect recipes you will see many familiar ones. I did find more than a handful of the bar cookie recipes that I never heard of before. I can't wait to try them out.

The pictures and design of World's Greatest Christmas Cookies Cookbook are warm, inviting and related to the Christmas season. Tips are sprinkled here and there throughout the book. The cookies are easy to make, nothing too fancy or time consuming. The ingredients for them would be found in your pantry. If you don't have them, they would easily be found in your grocery store. There is even a short chapter on frosting.

It seems to me that some of the recipes don't match the picture that is with them. Some ingredients shown in the picture aren't found in the recipe. For example, on page 116, the picture shows sesame seeds on the cookie but no sesame seeds are listed in the recipe. Some of the ingredients in the recipe aren't shown in the picture. For example, on page 103, broken corn chips and cereal squares are listed in the recipe but not shown in the picture. This may be due to the fact that I have an uncorrected proof.

Overall, the recipes in the cookbook look good. They are appropriate for Christmas but could be made anytime of the year. I would recommend this cookbook to the beginner or the person who has baked many a cookie.

I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley for my honest review.
